A worker was killed in an incident at a radio tower at the Jersey Shore on Thursday in which two others had to be rescued, according to a spokesperson with the Atlantic City Public Safety Office.
Officials say a large piece of the tower fell and hit a worker at the tower on the 300 block of Murray Avenue in the Venice Park neighborhood of Atlantic City on Dec. 4.
The worker that was hit by the object died from his injuries, police said.
The two other workers who were there had to be rescued but declined to be treated or taken to a hospital, officials said.
Police explained that there is a second piece of the tower that continues to hang near the top of the tower, so officials have set up a perimeter to keep the community away.
According to officials, the workers were employed by a private company at the time when this incident happened.
An investigation into this incident remains ongoing.
