“Federal officials say they’ve arrested 3,000 immigrants in Minnesota since Operation Metro Surge began in December,” according to the Minnesota Star Tribune, “and frequently describe them as the ‘worst of the worst’ — ‘violent assailants, domestic abusers, and drug traffickers’ — who’ve been allowed to run rampant because of the state’s sanctuary policies.” But who are those described in such negative terms? President Donald Trump, while speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, railed on Minnesota and told the audience “that Minnesota is an example of a place where embrace of foreign cultures has weakened America. Minnesota is home to the nation’s largest population of people of Somali descent, which has in itself attracted caustic words from the president,” according to MPR News.  

U.S. Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino criticized Minnesota elected officials and community members Tuesday, saying they’re making it ‘difficult’ for federal immigration agents to do their work,” reports Sahan Journal

At a news conference on Tuesday, ICE officials alleged that hundreds of undocumented criminals have been released from Minnesota custody. Except, the head of the state’s prison system, Commissioner Paul Schnell, says that’s false and that Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino’s data doesn’t align with records from the Department of Corrections.” KARE 11 reports.
