What is 'TrumpRx?': New initiative aims to cut U.S. drug prices

CHICAGO (WGN) — President Donald Trump recently announced a new deal with Pfizer to sell its drugs directly to consumers at discounted prices on a government-run website called ‘TrumpRx.’

The president stated that similar deals with other drugmakers are also in the works. It’s all part of a broader initiative aimed at bringing prices paid by Americans more in line with those paid in other developed countries. 

Dr. Ilisa Bernstein is the president of Bernstein Rx Solutions and an expert on drug and pharmacy regulations. She joined WGN’s Evening News at 4 p.m. on Friday to discuss the latest development.
