A recent viral video shows a beaver chomping down a tree in a northwest suburb of Chicago.
Schaumburg’s public works department got some unexpected help from the little volunteer who was seen munching away at a tree in the area.
A video of the beaver was taken by Jorge Duarte, who posted it on his TikTok account @stark_industriesinc earlier this week.
In just four days, the video garnered over 390,000 likes and over 3 million views.
The beaver had gnawed through a good portion of the tree trunk by the time the Duarte started filming. Woodchips could be seen scattered around the base of the tree.
The video showed at least three trees on the same block that appeared to have been recently removed, though the clean cut on the stump suggests those were not the work of the beaver.
