Video shows a Miami-Dade inmate slamming his head into a door during a bond court appearance over the weekend.
Franky Padilla, 42, had been arrested late Friday on an aggravated stalking charge and appeared before a judge on Sunday.
Padilla, who was handcuffed and wearing an orange jail outfit, appeared to be agitated as the judge told him he needed to stay away from the alleged victim.
“Can I explain?” he asked.
“No, you’re going to explain that to your lawyer,” the judge replied.
The judge ordered Padilla to have no contact with the alleged victim and the video showed him pacing around the room before he suddenly slammed his head against a door and fell to the ground.
“Your honor, we have another medical emergency, please hold,” a public defender says in the video.
Corrections workers respond and are able to lift Padilla up and hold a large bandage on his head and get him out of the room.
According to an arrest report, the alleged victim has a protection order from Padilla until May of 2030.
The victim said he texted and called her multiple times in violation of the order, and said when she didn’t answer him, he contacted police for a wellness check, the report said.
