MISSOURI – A $50,000 Powerball prize won in St. Louis County more than half a year ago expired earlier this week after it went unclaimed, according to the Missouri Lottery.
The winning ticket was sold at a Phillips 66 convenience store at 14195 Clayton Road in Town and Country for the March 26, 2025 Powerball drawing. The prize expired on Sept. 22, marking 180 days after the drawing date.
The winning numbers from that drawing included white-ball numbers of 5, 20, 29, 39, and 53, with a Powerball number of 6.
To win $50,000, a player must match all five white-ball numbers or four white-ball numbers plus the Powerball number.
A Missouri Lottery spokesperson tells FOX 2 that it’s unclear why the ticket wasn’t redeemed, but noted it may have been misplaced or the player may not have realized it was a winner.
“We recommend that all players make sure to check their tickets to determine if they have a winner. This can be done on the Lottery’s mobile app or via Check-A-Ticket scanners at retail,” said the spokesperson.
Unclaimed prizes after 180 days are directed to “benefit Missouri public education,” according to the Missouri Lottery.
There are currently five unclaimed prizes of at least $50,000 in Missouri, with the next one set to expire in November if not redeemed. For a closer look at those unclaimed prizes, click here.
