TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Troy Police Department announced on Friday that registration is now open for this year’s Citizens Police Academy. The 2025 session is scheduled to kick off on October 14.
The annual initiative aims to cultivate strong relationships between the community and law enforcement. The free, 10-week program gives participants the opportunity to learn about police operations while improving accountability and transparency with the public.
Members will receive extensive insight into collaborative community policing protocols and engage in interactive, real-life scenarios. Applicants are required to be at least 18 years old and must live or work in Troy.
2025 Troy Citizens Police Academy applications can be submitted online through Troy PD’s website. Anyone with additional questions about the program can email CPA@troyny.gov.
