ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Although hockey season just got started, a staple Capital Region rivalry between Union College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will hit the ice at MVP Arena in January. The 2026 Capital District Mayors Cup is scheduled for January 27, 2026, and tickets are now available for purchase.
Tickets to the 2026 Capital District Cup are on sale through MVP Arena’s website, starting at $26. The women’s game kicks off at 3 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 6 p.m.
Doors for the games open at 2 p.m. For devoted fans looking to sit close to their team, the Union College bench is located in Section 104, and RPI’s bench is in Section 106.
