Three security guards stabbed at Mavericks Beach Club in Pacific Beach: SDPD

A man was arrested after stabbing three security guards at Mavericks Beach Club early Sunday after being removed from the club, the San Diego Police Department said.

The stabbing occurred just after midnight Sunday, after a 24-year-old man was removed from the club. He later returned and confronted the three security guards, stabbing them all with a knife, SDPD said.

Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody, where he was booked for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, SDPD said.

The three victims were taken to the hospital and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

After the stabbing, the beach club’s representatives shared the following statement:

“We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred last night in which three of our security guards were attacked outside our establishment. The safety and well-being of our staff and guests remain our top priority. We are working closely with law enforcement and will pursue prosecution of those responsible to the fullest extent of the law.”

The incident is still under investigation.
