If you’re putting up a Christmas tree this season, you might find that more households are opting for a real tree. That’s because “artificial Christmas trees are becoming more expensive due to tariffs,” MPR News reports. But that doesn’t mean your natural tree will be cheap; “fertilizer, tree seedlings, labor and other expenses are getting more costly,” leading some tree growers to raise prices.
Speaking of tariffs, “[a] delegation including Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minnesota Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen went on a trade mission to Switzerland and Germany in November, visiting major business centers in Zürich, Düsseldorf and Berlin,” according to the Pioneer Press. The “trip was meant to spur growth in the state’s exports of goods and services and showcase Minnesota as a top destination for business investment, develop new partnership opportunities and strengthen existing trade and diplomatic ties.”
A rare freshwater jellyfish the size of a quarter was spotted in Taft Lake in Richfield this past October, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune. “According to the DNR, most years pass without a single verified sighting.”
It’s going to get colder, thanks to a “clipper wave train.” There could be a series of clippers later this week, each of which could bring a dusting of snow and colder temperatures, Bring Me The News reports.
