ST. LOUIS – The board of aldermen are weighing in on a potential $1.5 billion deal that seeks to turn the Armory into a data center.
In Friday’s meeting, some St. Louis leaders would like to move forward on public input, as well as a stricter review process. The vote aligns with Mayor Cara Spencer’s executive order to tighten restrictions on new data centers in the city of St. Louis.
Those in opposition, however, cite extreme water and electricity usage at the proposed center, which could be a lot financially for residents.
THO investments says two town halls are planned for Oct. 9 and Oct. 13. The Oct. 9 meeting will be held via ZOOM at 5:30 p.m. The Oct. 13 meeting is at 5:30 p.m. at the Sheet Metal Workers Union Hall.
