AUSTIN (KXAN) — Artificial intelligence, or AI, is becoming a bigger part of our everyday lives, powering search engines, classrooms, health care systems and so much more. While some are excited about the possibilities that can come from AI, others are confused or concerned about how it works and what it means for the future.
That’s why we are launching a new survey to hear directly from you. We want to know what you’re curious about when it comes to AI. What do you want explained in-depth, what worries you, and what would help you feel more informed?
Your responses will help our team create clear resources, useful and relevant to you and to our communities.
The survey takes just a few minutes. Some questions will ask about you so we can learn who we are hearing from.
Once you have reached the end of the survey, you will be asked if you would like to share your contact information. If you choose to share that information, a journalist may reach out to you for a follow-up conversation.
Your input will help guide KXAN’s coverage decisions related to the technology and its use in our communities.
KXAN’s research into AI
This survey is KXAN’s third research collaboration with Trusting News related to AI, journalism and transparency. Our first survey and audience interviews led us to create this public-facing page that explains our newsroom guidance and approach to artificial intelligence tools. Our second survey researched best practices for being transparent when journalists use AI tools.
That previous research showed “both that people want to be educated about AI and that they would welcome that education from journalists,” according to Trusting News’ announcement of this latest cohort of 10 newsrooms working to survey and educate their audiences about AI.
