Streak of unseasonable warmth to conclude with dramatic temperature drop

If you’re thinking about spending time outdoors this weekend, Saturday will likely be your best bet.

A final day of unseasonably warm temperatures and beautiful weather is expected before a return to rather normal conditions, NBC 5 Storm Team Meteorologist Pete Sack said. Warmer-than-usual weather arrived early on, along with temperatures in the low 60s.

Amid the warmth, the region was dealing with breezy conditions and wind gusts around 30 miles per hour. Those winds, Sack said, were caused by a storm system that kept rain off to the north.

As the morning hours progress, a cloud line from the storm system will sneak its way through. By the afternoon, some sunshine will arrive, along with comfortable temperatures.

Readings will sit in the mid-to-upper 60s around noon, which is when we’ll encounter a shift in winds, meteorologists stated.

Winds will arrive out of the north and west, and we likely won’t feel an immediate difference in temperatures as we go into the afternoon. Temperatures will then drop into the upper 50s after sunset.

As the evening hours arrive, readings will continue to drop dramatically. A 20-degree difference is likely by the time 10 p.m. rolls around, Sack said.

So, if you have any plans for this evening, take along a jacket because conditions will be cooling down, and those chilly readings will continue into Sunday morning.

By then, we’ll see temperatures in the mid-30s under mainly clear skies, meteorologists stated.

Sunday overall will be sunny, but not as windy and not quite as warm; temperatures will reach the mid-40s by noon.

Later in the afternoon, readings will climb into the upper 40s, and plenty of sunshine will head toward the region, meteorologists said.

The workweek will also begin with some sunshine – but there could be some clouds on the way.

Thankfully there will be no rain, at least early on.

Showers will arrive late in the day, Sack stated, and we’ll likely hold onto those seasonal readings, with high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 40s. The rest of the workweek will bring multiple opportunities for rain.

Showers are possible on both Tuesday and Wednesday; the latter could see some rain in the evening if at all.

Then, on Thursday, a better opportunity for showers will arrive, and Friday won’t be immune to rain, either.

Temperature-wise, conditions will gradually increase as the days go on, with readings in the mid-40s on Monday climbing to the mid-50s by Friday.
