St. Louis firefighters tackle early morning house fire

ST. LOUIS — Firefighters in South St. Louis battled a massive house fire early Sunday morning on Eichelberger Street near River Des Peres Park.

The St. Louis City Fire Department responded to the scene just before 4 a.m., where they encountered heavy flames pouring from a one-story brick home.

Firefighters quickly pulled a hose line and entered the building to search for anyone who might be trapped inside.

As of now, it remains unclear if anyone was injured in the fire.

Crews are still working to determine the cause of the blaze.
