As anticipation continues to build for the 2026 World Cup, the greater Los Angeles region is gearing up to host eight matches at SoFi Stadium for the global sporting event.
FIFA held its draw for the 48 teams on Friday and revealed the schedule for the event on Saturday. With the U.S., Mexico and Canada acting as next year’s hosts, Southern California will get to welcome international teams and fans in Inglewood.
The U.S. Men’s National Team will have its opening game here in the Southland. The following matches will be played at SoFi Stadium, according to FIFA:
Group matches
- Friday, June 12 at 6 p.m. – USMNT vs. Paraguay
- Monday, June 15 at 6 p.m. – Iran vs. New Zealand
- Thursday, June 18 at 12 p.m. – Switzerland vs. UEFA Playoff Winner A
- Sunday, June 21 at 12 p.m. – Belgium vs. Iran
- Thursday, June 25 at 7 p.m. – UEFA Playoff Winner C vs. USMNT
Round of 32
- Sunday, June 28 – Grp. A runner-up vs. Grp. B runner-up
- Thursday, July 2 – Grp. H winner vs. Grp. J runner-up
Quarterfinals
- Friday, July 10 – R16 match 5 winner vs. R16 match 6 winner
Fans who wish to attend any World Cup games can try their luck in FIFA’s random selection draw, in fans can apply to purchase single-match tickets. FIFA says the entry period for this phase of ticket sales will run from 8 a.m. Dec. 11 through 8 a.m. Jan. 13.
“All successful and partially successful ticket applicants will receive communications via email and subsequently will be automatically charged for their tickets in February,” FIFA said on its website. “A partially successful application indicates that a fan will receive the number of tickets requested to a match, but not all matches requested.”
