Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk unites thousands in SoCal

Thousands gathered at the Manhattan Beach Pier on Sunday morning for the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk.

The walk serves as more than just a fundraiser for children with special needs, education programs and scholarship offers, Skechers officials said in a statement to KTLA.

“It’s a heartwarming display of compassion and inclusion, bringing families, celebrities, athletes and community leaders together to raise millions,” the statement reads in part.

Starting at the Manhattan Beach Pier, participants will make their way to the Hermosa Beach Pier and back – almost four miles in total.

Among the celebrity guests was actor and TV personality Howie Mandel, who spoke with KTLA’s Mary Beth McDade on the importance of the event.

“What Skechers does for the community and underprivileged people and the public school system is amazing and paramount,” Mandel, a Skechers Ambassador, said. “It’s all about heart and giving.”
