Schenectady Police arrest 2 for school burglaries

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Schenectady Police Department arrested two Schenectady residents for alleged burglaries at different Schenectady county schools. Emmanuel Pless, 20, and Chrishauna McFadden, 21, face multiple charges.

Pless and McFadden were arrested on Friday after police said they were linked to burglaries at Schenectady High School, Central Park Middle School, Paige Elementary School, and Bishop Gibbons School. Pless was charged with five counts of third-degree burglary and McFadden was charged with third-degree burglary and three counts of sixth-degree conspiracy, per the Schenectady Police Department.

” We are  grateful to the Schenectady Police Department for their swift and effective action in resolving the burglaries that took place at three of our schools during the evening hours earlier this month,” said the Schenectady City School District in a statement. “We continue to work with the SPD to complete an assessment of any damages and stolen property. While we are concerned these individuals gained unauthorized access into our schools outside of operational hours, we are relieved this matter is resolved. We remain committed to ensuring our schools remain secure, welcoming environments where all students can feel safe and focus on learning.”
