Schenectady man pleads guilty to sex crime against child

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Schenectady man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one count of second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child. The Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office said Love Bryant, 22, admitted to sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13 several times.

The DA’s office said that the victim told their mother on August 21 that Bryant had engaged in sexual conduct several times, which ended around August 17. After the victim’s mother contacted law enforcement, staff members of the DA’s office performed a forensic interview of the victim at The Child Advocacy Center.

During the interview, the victim told staff that Bryant had touched her with his hands repeatedly over several months. Bryant was arrested by Youth Aid Bureau detectives shortly after the interview with the victim, according to the DA’s office.

Bryant faces a sentence of four years in prison, 10 years of probation, and must register as a sex offender after completing his sentence. Officials said Bryant will return to Schenectady County Court for sentencing on December 9.
