Sabres add new food options for upcoming season

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Buffalo Sabres are preparing to welcome fans back to KeyBank Center this Thursday, and one of the ways they’re enhancing the fan experience is by adding some new options to the menu.

From new versions of classic concessions to sandwiches and options named after current and former players, there are many new options for fans to try.

This season they’re debuting a new rotator program where every 10 games they will offer a different type of pizza, hamburger, fried dough, milkshake, and torpedo pretzel. For season-ticket holders, they’re also offering a new value menu with concession classics with options that range from $3 to $5.

“The scope of the season-ticket holder is everywhere, from people who have been season-ticket holders for 50 years to new people … it just offers you an opportunity to just be able to snack at a very affordable rate,” said Mike Buonopane, executive chef at KeyBank Center.

They also say their two-foot nacho program was popular, so this year they’re doing “Face-Off Nachos,” where on one side you get the classic Buffalo chicken nachos and the other side is inspired by the Atlantic, Pacific, Central, and Metropolitan conferences.

“As we become more global, food culture is so front and center … we just want to keep offering people a variety,” Buonopane said.

Sabres chief operating officer Pete Guelli said around 850 tickets are left for Thursday night’s season opener against the New York Rangers. For information on buying tickets, click here.
