Police arrested a suspect allegedly involved in three Worcester shootings that date back to 2019, after he’d been on the run for three years.
U.S. Marshalls arrested Kenneth Diaz, 29, in Houston, Texas, on Dec. 3, where they found him with several firearms and body armor in his possession, police said.
He was brought back to Massachusetts to appear in court last Wednesday.
Worcester Police said that they were able to find Diaz, who has been a fugitive since 2022, by identifying and locating a female associate of Diaz who they said “disappeared after the 2022 shooting that Diaz is a suspect in. She had moved to an unknown location, and her social media went dark.”
The department worked with the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the Marshal Service to find and extradite Diaz back to the Bay State.
Lynn search warrant recovers drugs, guns
Police say they found crack cocaine, equipment for selling narcotics, and several guns in a Lynn apartment Thursday following the execution of a search warrant.
Salem Police and Lynn police arrested and charged Derrick Poe with three counts of distributing crack cocaine. In addition to the drugs, police said a search warrant of Poe’s Mall Street apartment yielded two “ghost guns,” a stolen handgun, and an extended magazine.
Officers also arrested Chastity Black, who also lives in the apartment.
Black and Poe will be arraigned at Lynn District Court.
