A plane’s wing and a bus collided at Chicago O’Hare International Airport Tuesday afternoon, causing damage to the plane, authorities said.
Just after 1 p.m. Tuesday, the wing of a Southwest Airlines plane collided with a bus during pushback from a gate at the airport, authorities said.
Southwest Airlines said “the lower portion of the right wingtip” is what came into contact with the bus.
The plane, Southwest Airlines Flight 2176, was bound for Las Vegas.
The plane returned to the gate after the collision and passengers exited normally. There were no injuries reported, according to the airline.
“We apologize for any inconvenience and will accommodate our Las Vegas-bound customers on another aircraft,” the airline said in a statement.
Southwest’s spokesperson said the airline is working with local authorities to investigate.
“Nothing is more important to Southwest than the safety of our customers and employees,” the spokesperson said.
No other information was immediately available.
