Pints of ice cream from a popular brand were recalled due to potential presence of small stones and other hard objects in the dessert, the FDA announced Monday.
Danone U.S., based in White Plaines, New York and Louisville, Colorado, recalled its So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints due to “potential presence of foreign materials” within the cashew inclusions, the recall states.
The recall only applies to the Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints with best-by dates of before August 8, 2027, with UPC code 744473476138 and SKU code 136603.
So Delicious ice cream is sold at many popular grocery stores in the Chicago area, including at Marianos, Whole Foods and Food4Less.
“The FDA has been informed of this voluntary recall and So Delicious Dairy Free® is working swiftly with retail partners to remove the potentially impacted product from shelves,” the FDA stated in the recall alert. “In the meantime, the company has already identified and corrected this issue and will soon be able to bring back the frozen dessert so many people enjoy.”
Anyone with the recalled product should not consume it, according to the FDA. For information on refunds, contact the So Delicious Dairy Free® Care Line at 1-833-367-8975.
