A Centennial spa owner and massage therapist was arrested this month on suspicion of prostitution in an undercover sting by the sheriff’s office, according to court documents.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a man who said he was offered sexual acts in exchange for money during a massage at the Mango Spa, 6650 S. Vine St., according to an arrest affidavit.
Disguised as a customer, a deputy went undercover in the spa on Oct. 2 and met the 46-year-old woman who owns the business. The woman gave the deputy a similar offer for sex during his massage and was arrested, according to her arrest affidavit.
The spa owner was arrested on suspicion of prostitution and keeping a place of prostitution, according to Arapahoe County court records. She is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 7.
The public should be aware of illegal activities at massage parlors and, if they see any suspicious activity, report it immediately, Arapahoe County sheriff’s spokesperson John Bartmann said.
Red flags to keep an eye out for include:
- Being open 24 hours or late at night.
- Only accepting cash.
- A lack of intake paperwork.
- Doors being locked and customers needing to be buzzed in.
- Ongoing rotation of new employees, which could indicate human trafficking.
