(KRON) — One person was hospitalized and remains in critical condition after they were shot near the intersection of Beach Street and Riverside Avenue in Santa Cruz at 10:48 p.m. Saturday, according to the Santa Cruz Police Department.
The victim, an adult, was taken to a local trauma center by ambulance.
“The investigation remains active, and detectives are working to determine the circumstances and motive surrounding the incident,” Santa Cruz PD said.
Anyone who witnessed the shooting or may have information related to the case is asked to contact the Santa Cruz PD.
