
Patients who go into labor in Owatonna could soon face a longer trip to the hospital. MPR News reports Mayo Clinic Health System “is ending on-call labor and delivery services at Owatonna’s hospital next month, Nov. 17.” That could mean an additional 40-minute trip for new parents. A spokesperson told MPR News “that the medical care giant is unable to continue the service due to recent staffing challenges and an ongoing nationwide shortage of OB-GYN physicians.” Allina Health will take over the hospital’s labor and delivery responsibilities.
A mobile dental clinic is making its next stop in Rochester this week. KTTC writes “it’s a partnership between the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and U-Care. … The mobile clinic rotates across 15 sites throughout Minnesota, with faculty and students working together to deliver high-quality dental care to underserved communities.”
Hennepin Avenue construction in Uptown is expected to be finished by next month. KARE 11 says “once complete, the popular thoroughfare in South Minneapolis will have a new bus shelter, improved biking and walking paths and replaced sewer lines.”
It’s not even Halloween yet, but a Christmas pastry pop-up has landed in Minneapolis. WCCO TV reports “crowds were out the door Wednesday night at the opening of the Merry Marc Heu Christmas Pop-Up. … The pop-up stays up through Dec. 31 and is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.“
