Officials investigating after man found dead lying on South Jersey road

Police are investigating after a man was found dead on the side of the road at the Jersey Shore over the weekend, officials said.

Officers from the Absecon Police Department were called to South Shore Road near Iowa Avenue around 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30 after someone called 911 to report a person lying on the shoulder of the road, police said.

When the officers got to the scene, they found a man who had died, officials said. He reportedly had clear signs of trauma.

The Absecon Police Department is working with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office to investigate this incident.
