New trading card, hobby shop set to open in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Gamers and collectors will soon have a new spot in the Capital Region to celebrate their hobbies. Shiny Vault, a business with a specialization in trading cards, will be celebrating its grand opening in Schenectady on October 25 from noon to 8 p.m.

Shiny Vault will offer single cards, packs, booster boxes, plushies, and accessories for an array of games. The store will feature collectibles ranging from Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! to Magic: The Gathering and One Piece.

“As someone who’s been passionate about Pokémon since childhood, I wanted to create a place where collectors and players can come together to share that same excitement,” Shiny Vault’s owner David Paris said. “Whether you’re opening your first booster pack or hunting for rare cards, Shiny Vault is your community hub for all things TCG.”

Shiny Vault is located at 1608 Union Street. The store’s weekly hours will be noon to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
