MANCHESTER, Mo. – It’s the opening of a new PGA Superstore and golf fans have been camped out here for some giveaways since Monday.
“Camping out,” says Marshall Jeffries. “Getting some free clubs.”
Golf fans getting day passes at a nearby fitness club for bathroom breaks.
“We were waiting when we heard a rumor of some club giveaways at every other location,” says Eli Shaver. “We’re just trying to get some free clubs.”
Maybe it was a little birdy that told them, or their eagle eye followed online and led them to line up here in Manchester outside the new PGA Superstore opening Saturday.
“We open on Saturday at 9am and we’re giving out $30,000 dollars’ worth of giveaways,” says Gordon Huelsmann, PGA Superstore General Manager. “Anywhere from driver sets to irons, putters, and tons of apparel and golf balls.”
Among the giveaways is cool golf technology, like St. Louis-based business Rapsodo.
“We have our MLM2 Pro launch monitor that gives 15 metrics, including spin data and club data,” says Kerri Costello Rapsodo. “Simulation including 30 thousand golf courses that you’re able to play.”
Golf fans camping out say they’ve made new friends this week while waiting for Saturday morning’s opening.
