A Miami man arrested months ago for the alleged sexual battery of a minor is now facing new charges related to possession of child sexual abuse material, police said.
Osher Joshua Pittman, 21, had been arrested back in May on a charge of sexual battery on a minor by an adult, records showed.

On Monday, he was charged with 15 counts of possession of images showing a sexual performance by a child, and one count of possessing images showing a person engaged in sexual conduct with animals, Miami Police officials said.
Pittman had initially been arrested after an 8-year-old girl reported that she was inappropriately touched by him in his apartment, an arrest report said.
The alleged sexual battery happened in a living room while the girl’s mother was sleeping in a bedroom, the report said.
Then, on Aug. 18, police said they received a cyber tip regarding an online upload of child sexual abuse material.
As a result, investigators executed a search warrant at Pittman’s home, where they found electronic devices belonging to him that contained child sexual abuse material, police said.
More than 100 images involving young children were found, along with bestiality images, the arrest report said.
Pittman has remained held without bond since his arrest on May 28.
“Through meticulous investigative work, detectives were able to successfully bring a perpetrator of such despicable acts to justice and therefore prevent further harm to innocent children,” police said in a statement Tuesday. “The Miami Police Department will always remain steadfast in its commitment to combatting crimes against children. We urge our community to report any suspicious activities or information related to child sexual abuse.”
Police are asking any other potential victims to contact them at 305-603-6300.
