Manchester named one of Missouri’s most neighborly cities: Report

MANCHESTER, Mo. – The city of Manchester has been awarded as one of Missouri’s Most Neighborly Cities for 2026.

On Oct. 13, the University of Missouri Extension and The Hopeful Neighborhood Project honored Manchester with the award after the conclusion of the record-breaking Missouri Good Neighbor Week.

Manchester is recognized for its strong culture of connection and community engagement.

The city has dedicated the past year to developing intentional outreach events that will enhance the lives of residents.

Many of their events focus on building a sense of belonging and togetherness to amplify their commitment to developing stronger community ties.

“Manchester strives to be a connected and caring community. When residents feel connected and cared for, the city is healthier and happier,” said Manchester Mayor Mike Clement.

Manchester has adopted many neighboring themes by launching a volunteer team for Feed the Need, developing civic season events, expanding its presence at back-to-school activities and supporting the growth of National Night Out.

Manchester will be the sixth city to be honored for exemplifying neighborly excellence across Missouri.
