BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man wanted for a murder in Vermont was arrested during a routine speeding stop in Chautauqua County early Wednesday morning, according to New York State Police.
Police pulled over 25-year-old Terrene Biggs of Warren, Mich. around 2:35 a.m. on I-90 in the Town of Portland where he was observed speeding.
Police found that Biggs had a warrant for an alleged April murder in Rutland, Vt., according to WIVB’s sister station WVNY/WFFF, as well as for an alleged assault in Florida. In addition, he was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance by New York State Police.
He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail and will be held there pending extradition to Vermont.
