An investigation is underway after a man died in an accident involving a woodchipper in Lower Southampton Township, Pennsylvania, police said.
On Monday, Dec. 22, at 4:41 p.m., police, firefighters and medics responded to Valley View Drive for a reported industrial accident. When they arrived they found a man in his late 60s who was stuck inside a woodchipper.
The man died from his injuries. Police are not releasing his identity at this time.

Philadelphia police officers were spotted at the scene of the accident. Lower Southampton Township Police Chief Ted Krimmel told NBC10 the victim is related to someone connected to the Philadelphia Police Department.
“One of the family members is part of the Philadelphia Police Department,” Chief Krimmel said. “They are here supporting that person.”
On Tuesday, police officials confirmed the victim was the father of an officer for the Philadelphia Police Department.
Officials continue to investigate the incident. The Bucks County Coroner’s Office is working to determine an official cause of death.
