Man aspiring to be next Miami-Dade mayor charged with battery: Records

A man who is aspiring to be the next mayor of Miami-Dade County and said he’s running for the position in 2028, was arrested on Saturday and is facing battery charges, records showed.

Victor Rosario, 50, is facing several charges, including aggravated battery on a police officer and resisting an officer with violence, Miami-Dade Jail records showed.

During his court appearance, a judge denied Rosario’s bond.

NBC6 has reached out to officials for information on Rosario’s arrest.

According to Rosario’s campaign website, he was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is the founder of The Bass Agency LLC, “an organization specializing in organizing EDM events and corporate productions,” and The Equation Agency LLC, “a creative marketing agency that delivers innovative strategies for business growth, branding, and high-impact campaigns.”

His said he will run as a Republican.

Rosario also was a former candidate for Miami Beach mayor.

Current Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava is term-limited.

The Miami-Dade County mayoral election will be held on Nov. 7, 2028.
