ST. LOUIS – Jacqueline Rhone, known as ‘La-La’ to friends and family, died last May from a ruptured brain aneurysm at the age of 39.
Her mother, Jazzie Ford, recounted that the last year of Jacqueline’s life was marked by a series of confusing medical issues, including high blood pressure, vision and hearing loss, and low energy, initially attributed to stress.
Jazzie insisted on taking Jacqueline to the hospital when her symptoms persisted.
Jacqueline was put on life support, and Ford faced the difficult decision of discontinuing it.
Before Jacqueline’s heartbeat stopped, Ford established the ‘La-La Speaks’ Foundation to raise awareness and funds for brain aneurysm research.
Ford hopes others will recognize signs such as headaches, hearing, and vision loss and seek medical help.
She continues to work to raise awareness about what she calls a ‘silent killer’ and holds tight to memories, still talking to her daughter daily.
Through the ‘La-La Speaks’ Foundation, Ford aims to prevent others from experiencing the same tragedy by promoting awareness of brain aneurysm symptoms and encouraging early medical intervention.
