Live bullet found in middle school hallway, leading to early release: Brighton police

DENVER (KDVR) — Bromley East Charter School was placed on a hold after a live bullet was found in a hallway, Brighton police reported on Friday.

The Brighton Police Department said there is no active threat to the school and that school officials determined an early dismissal and controlled release of students was the best course of action.

The bullet was found in the middle school hallway “earlier today,” police said Friday afternoon. School resource officers were at the school “all morning” to work with administrators on the issue.

Bromley East serves kindergarten through 8th grade.

Police will remain on scene to provide security as parents pick up their children.

The investigation is ongoing and no one is in custody.
