Payroll Support Hybrid in Vienna, VA or Winchester, VA Contract Pay: 22/hr W2 Description To provide operational support regarding processes, procedures and/or programs for an assigned Human Resources Shared Services Payroll department. Serve as trusted advisor to employees by responding to Payroll related requests and inquiries and providing guidance to internal/external customers. Identify, research and resolve issues/discrepancies, and review and process HR personnel transactions. Responsibilities • Provide Payroll operational support requiring understanding of assigned processes, procedures and/or programs • Analyze and interpret basic issues; select methods, processes, or tools to meet needs, and coordinate solutions efficiently and accurately • Resolve or arrange for resolution of basic operational/processing issues, inquiries, and complaints • Provide guidance to internal/external customers and stakeholders regarding basic processes and HR services • Ensure compliance with all HR related policies, practices, and procedures • Support on-going quality control checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy of basic processes and procedures • Perform research for process improvements; provide information to senior staff and leadership as directed Qualifications • Working knowledge of Payroll systems (e.g., Oracle Cloud, PeopleSoft, HRIS, ADP) and the interrelations among data fields and panels within the system • Working knowledge of government regulations related to payroll taxes and payroll processing • Proficiency in MS 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Experience in positions which reflect the ability to work independently; exercise sound judgment; display a high degree of initiative; and manage multiple priorities effectively, preferably in a Human Resources function System One, and its divisions and subsidiaries including Joul, ALTA IT Services, CM Access, and MOUNTAIN, LTD., are leaders in delivering workforce solutions and integrated services across North America. Work with functional partners for testing and implementing solutions to achieve business goals. Provide support to employees and teams to improve overall customer service and effectiveness. Work with functions and outsourced vendors to support projects, initiatives, fiscal and year-end requirements. Conduct operational analysis and audits to resolve issues in a proactive and positive environment, promoting trust among the customers, while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Handle incoming and outgoing mail related to garnishments, tax notices, employee wage verifications, return checks and other payroll related documentation. Responsible for service and customer service metrics for payroll including performance management to support operating model. Support tiered support model (Tier 2, Tier3) for payroll delivery including customer service and on-going maintenance. Subject matter expert for payroll operational issues. Ability to navigate effectively in a highly matrixed organization with multiple deadlines and projects. Interact with all levels of employees, tax agencies, outsourced vendors in an effective manner. Ability to work independently and part of a team to develop and implement solutions, after diagnosing issues serving as subject matter expert.
