POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with production, warehouse/logistics, transportation, sales, and marketing management in participating in multiple Human Resources functions such as recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, training, record keeping, performance management, policy implementation, communication and employment law compliance.
JOB DUTIES:
- Full-time in office at the Philadelphia, PA Headquarters location Monday through Friday.
- Assists in the implementation of personnel policies for our all employees.
- Responsible for recruitment efforts including conducting phone screens, coordinating interviews with the hiring manager, and making employment offers.
- Coordinates post-offer pre-employment physicals and drug screens and submits online background investigations for new hires.
- Conducts new employee orientations on a monthly basis which includes but is not limited to new hire paperwork, safety training, harassment training and benefits enrollment. Submit these documents into Payroll in a timely manner.
- Verifies I-9 documentation and utilizes E-Verify to electronically submit data.
- Audits and partakes in all performance appraisals; coordinate with supervisors to discuss each of their department’s employees’ evaluation (30-day evaluation, 70-day evaluation, and annual evaluation).
- Informs and explains company provided benefits (medical benefits, 401k benefits, etc.) to new and current employees; and submits completed enrollment paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Scans and organizes documents into employees’ files.
- Maintains personnel records ensuring timely and accurate records in HRIS system.
- Handles employee relations counseling; partakes and conducts employee investigations when needed.
- Conducts and administers all terminations and discipline when needed.
- Responsible for completing and filing unemployment claims and also attending unemployment hearings when needed.
- Attend weekly HR meetings.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, organization development & change, economics, statistics, business analytics, or related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in an HR Generalist/Recruiter position.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment is strongly desired.
- Experience in a manufacturing company is preferred.
- PHR/SHRM Certification preferred.
- Past experience with an HRIS system (UKG Pro and Kronos experience is desired).
