Our client is seeking a hands-on, strategic, and growth-oriented Head of Finance to join their leadership team. This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to the board and investors, offering a clear path from Director of Finance to VP of Finance within one year for the right candidate.



Position Overview:

The Head of Finance will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our clients financial strategy while implementing best practices across the back office. This senior-level, roll-up-your-sleeves leader will own the entire finance function — including financial planning & analysis, reporting, audit, compliance, treasury, and key performance monitoring.



As a strategic partner to senior management and the President, this leader will provide the insights and financial rigor needed to optimize business decision-making and drive scalable growth. The ideal candidate has held leadership roles in high-growth SaaS companies and successfully built systems, processes, and teams that can scale in a PE-backed environment.

Key Responsibilities:


  1. Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Partner with senior management to drive financial strategy and planning.
  • Lead forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning aligned with company goals.
  • Translate financial insights into operational actions to improve growth, efficiency, and profitability.

  1. FP&A | Reporting | Metrics

  • Build and maintain the company’s financial model & reporting package.
  • Prepare presentations for management, operating reviews, and board meetings.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis on pricing, compensation, and business performance.

  1. Financial Operations & Systems

  • Lead and optimize month- and quarter-end close processes (target: 7-day close).
  • Scale finance operations, processes, and systems to support rapid growth.
  • Evaluate and implement ERP (e.g., QuickBooks ? NetSuite) and other financial systems.

  1. Financial Management

  • Oversee covenant reporting and debt management.
  • Manage cash, balance sheet, and treasury functions.
  • Support financial due diligence for M&A opportunities.

  1. Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure GAAP-compliant reporting (including ASC 606 implementation).
  • Establish strong internal controls, policies, and audit readiness.
  • Manage relationships with external tax, legal, and audit advisors.

  1. Team Building & Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team.
  • Create a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and agility.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Professional Services.

Qualifications | Experience | Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 3–5+ years in SaaS or recurring revenue environments.
  • Extensive experience in a PE- or VC-backed growth company
  • Strong understanding of SaaS KPIs, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and subscription models.
  • Proven experience leading ERP implementations (e.g., NetSuite).
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling expertise.
  • Track record of reducing close timelines, leading audits, and supporting M&A due diligence.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
  • High integrity, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
