Position Summary
The Admissions Operations Assistant serves as the primary administrative point of contact for the Office of Admissions, primarily supporting the Undergraduate Admissions team and acting as the first line of communication for all initial admission inquiries. This role is responsible for managing the reception area, directing visitors to Admission and Student Financial Services, and delivering exceptional service to students, families, and campus partners. Additionally, the position supports administrative tasks, including processing inquiry, application, and campus visit data, and assisting with major campus events as needed.
The Admissions Operations Assistant reports directly to the Executive Director of Admissions and provides support to the Enrollment Management leadership team as necessary.
Essential Duties
- Provide excellent front facing customer service and accurate information to visitors, prospective and current students, and their families or other support networks.
- Answer the main Admissions Office phone and email, efficiently coordinating responses by responding personally or forwarding inquiries to the appropriate subject matter expert within the division or across campus.
- Maintain an accurate and comprehensive understanding of general admission information for undergraduate, graduate, and adult students and communicate this information clearly to students and families.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date understanding of the relationship between admissions and financial aid questions in order to ensure inquiries are handled most efficiently and accurately.
- Correspond with students and their families on a daily basis in regard application status or general inquiries, addressing questions in a timely and professional manner.
- Support data processing within Slate and Banner systems, ensuring accuracy.
- Demonstrate understanding and adherence to FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) regulations, protecting student privacy.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to streamline operations and support the overall student experience.
- Assist with special events (e.g., open houses, recruitment events) as needed, contributing to successful execution.
- Resolve issues or conflicts with professionalism, aiming for positive outcomes for students and families.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with other divisional and University-wide departments to enhance the student experience, especially related to on campus recruitment activities.
- Attend recruitment events to support registration and other administrative tasks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent combined education and work experience in an Admissions or Financial Aid Office or in a related higher education environment.
- Previous experience successfully working as part of a team.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and provide outstanding customer service to students, families, and campus partners.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous involvement in developing recruiting and communication strategies.
- Previous experience using Slate and/or Ellucian’s Banner.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
- Evening and weekend work will be necessary during peak times and for events.
