Jessie Diggins announces retirement from ski racing

Olympic gold medalist and Minnesota native Jessie Diggins announced Wednesday morning that this upcoming cross-country ski race season will be her last, WCCO-TV reports. Diggins was part of the first U.S. Team to win a gold medal in cross-country skiing in 2018.

Families of Bro-Tex workers detained by ICE in St. Paul on Tuesday hosted a community vigil Wednesday where they said they have not been able to reach their loved ones. MPR News reports an ICE spokesperson “did not immediately respond to a request to confirm how many people were detained.”

A report released on Wednesday by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce warns the state’s economy is falling behind, citing data that shows “Minnesota’s GDP per capita has grown 1.0% annually since 2019, while the national average is 1.8%.” The agency announced a multi-year initiative to “reverse the findings of the report,” 5 Eyewitness News reports.
