Jamestown man found dead with crossbow wound, man charged with murder

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man has been charged with murder after a Jamestown man was found dead with an apparent crossbow wound on Friday, according to police.

Police responded to an address on West Fourth Street in Jamestown just before 5 a.m. There, they found 62-year-old Michael Jaeckle dead with an apparent injury from a crossbow.

David Nelson, 58, and also of Jamestown, was taken into custody while being in possession of a crossbow and charged with second-degree murder as well as third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Nelson is being held at Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment. An investigation remains ongoing.
