Authorities Friday revealed additional details about the three people who were found shot and killed inside a home in Lakewood.
The victims were 52-year-old Hector Lionel Alfaro, his 48-year-old wife and 17-year-old daughter, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The shooting was reported Thursday at around 8 a.m. on Lorelei Avenue near South Street as someone called about an assault with a deadly weapon.
When deputies arrived, they saw a 19-year-old woman running out of the home. The woman, who was later identified as Alfaro’s eldest daughter,’ said “her dad shot at her,” the sheriff’s department said.
After entering the home, the deputies found Alfaro, lying on the floor in the den of the home with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.
Alfaro’s wife and youngest daughter were found in separate bedrooms with gunshot wounds to the upper torso.
The 19-year-old later told investigators that she was woken up to the sound of gunshots, the sheriff’s department said.
She also told deputies that her dad entered her bedroom and fired his handgun several times. She was not struck and injured.
The sheriff’s department said two firearms were recovered at the scene.
There was no outstanding suspect and no threat to the public, officials said Thursday several hours after the shooting was initially reported.
