Hillsborough sheriff announces new tool for traffic complaints

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced a new tool for reporting traffic concerns or violations.

If there’s a chronic speeder in your neighborhood, there’s now a way to report them to the sheriff’s office without calling 911 or the non-emergency line.

The sheriff’s office said its website now has an online form for traffic complaints that will go straight to deputies to review. The HCSO Traffic Services Bureau will manage all complaints to ensure every concern is addressed.

You can access the online form by going to the HCSO website, hovering over the Services button, and selecting “Traffic Complaint” from the drop-down menu.

The form asks for the day, time and location of the incident and what kind of problem it was, with options like speeding, aggressive driving, unsafe turn, running a stop sign and parking issues.

If you’re unable to complete the form, an HCSO employee can submit a complaint on your behalf.
