Guy Moon, ‘The Fairly OddParents' and ‘Johnny Bravo' composer, dies at 63

Guy Moon, the Emmy-nominated composer known for his work on nostalgic cartoons like The Fairly OddParents and Johnny Bravo, has died at age 63.

Moon died Thursday after sustaining traumatic injuries in a traffic collision, according to his family and the LA County Medical Examiner.

“We feel singularly blessed to have been able to call him dad and husband. As we stand together at the base of what seems to be an insurmountable grief, we are emboldened to grieve him with honor and courage with the tools that he equipped us with in his beautiful life. He has left an unmistakable legacy, and will be profoundly missed by us, his family, and countless others whose lives he impacted,” wrote his family in a post on social media.

Moon moved to California in 1986 and composed for several cartoon shows, including 2 Stupid Dogs, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. He also worked on multiple Butch Hartman shows on Nickelodeon, such as Danny Phantom andThe Fairly OddParents, for which he recieved a Emmy nomination.

The family says they are planning to celebrate Moon’s life on his birthday, Feb. 7, in Los Angeles and another celebration in his home state of Wisconsin.
