PALATINE, Ill. — Palatine police are hoping for community help related to a missing person investigation that’s been unsolved since 1998.
Anthony “Tony” Klama was reported missing on Nov. 6, 1998 after failing to show up to work.
The last confirmed sighting of him occurred the night before at approximately 11:30 p.m.
He was seen near the intersection of North Hicks Road and Rand Road in Palatine, near the Fox Fire Apartments in the 1900 block of North Hicks Road.
Witnesses told police they spotted him near a vehicle with an unknown male, described as white or Latino.
He’s not been seen or heard from since.
Klama was 36 at the time of his disappearance and was 6’1 and weighed around 160 lbs.
He had brown hair, green eyes and a mustache. Klama had Native America-themed tattoos on both arms and on his chest.
On the night he was last seen, he was wearing dark jeans, a blue and white flannel t-shirt and a baseball cap.
In 2014, two “Good Samaritans” mailed an anonymous letter to Crime Stoppers about the case.
Police are hoping to speak with them and urge them to come to the department with any information.
Anyone with information can contact Palatine police at 847-359-9000.
