Glens Falls upgrades EV chargers with new partnership

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEW10) — Glens Falls residents who own an electric vehicle will soon have several new locations to charge up. In partnership with PISO EV, city officials said on Friday that seven EV chargers are being added to city parking lots.

Locations

• East Park Field on Haskell Avenue
  • Two dual-port chargers are being added to the front of the facility building.
• Harding Mazzotti Arena in Civic Center Plaza
  • One dual-port charger will be added to the back of the building near Oakland Avenue.
• Glens Falls Recreation Center & Ice Rink on Fire Road
  • Two dual-port chargers are being added to Fire Road.
• Glens Falls YMCA on Glen Street
  • One dual-port charger will be added to the parking lot on Glen Street.
• Glens Falls Department of Public Works on Dix Avenue
  • One dual-port charger will be added to the front of the building.
• Park Street Parking Garage
  • One dual-port charger will be added to each floor of the garage, but not the first.
• Elm Street Parking Lot
  • Two dual-port chargers are being added to the Elm Street side of the parking lot.

The city has upgraded the old ChargePoint stations to SWITCH Energy units. The SWITCH chargers have an RFID scan on each charger with instructions on how to use the charger.
