Colorado is adding some big-time talent to its offense.
On Tuesday, former Texas receiver DeAndre Moore Jr., announced his verbal commitment to the Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders.
The 6-foot, 192-pound Moore, who has one year of eligibility remaining, has been a regular starter for the Longhorns for two years, catching 77 passes for 988 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Moore was second on the team this year in receptions (38) and receiving yards (532), helping Texas to a 10-3 record and No. 13 ranking in the College Football Playoff.
A year ago, he was fifth on the team in receptions (39) and receiving yards (456) and tied for second in receiving touchdowns (seven). He was a part of a team that went 13-3 and advanced to the CFP semifinals.
Moore played in nine games as a true freshman in 2023, but didn’t have a reception in 58 offensive snaps.
Coming out of St. John Bosco (California) High School in 2023, he was a four-star recruit and participated in the All-American Bowl. His St. John Bosco team was named national champion by MaxPreps in 2022.
Moore is rated by 247Sports as the No. 5 receiver in the transfer portal this year.
This offseason, CU has lost three of its top four receivers, including Omarion Miller (Arizona State) and Dre’Lon Miller (Baylor) to the transfer portal. Sincere Brown graduated.
Joseph Williams, who was second on the team in catches (37) and yards (489) leads the group of returning players, but the Buffs have bolstered the room in the portal.
In addition to Moore, the Buffs have added three other transfers, including Danny Scudero, who led the nation with 1,297 receiving yards at San Jose State this year, while posting 88 catches and 10 touchdowns.
CU has also added former Miami (Ohio) star Kam Perry (43 catches, 976 yards, six touchdowns), the only player in the FBS with 40 catches and at least a 20-yards per catch average (22.7); as well as Ernest Campbell, the top receiver at Sacramento State after catching 37 passes for 755 yards and eight touchdowns.
CU has had 33 transfer additions this offseason, and Moore is the second starter from Texas to join the herd. Linebacker Liona Lefau committed last week.
