A New Jersey man is facing two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to having images of children being sexually abused, according to the New Jersey District Attorney’s Office.
Officials with the Department of Homeland Security went to the Lanoka Harbor home of John Mangan, 79, on Oct. 29, 2024, with a search warrant when they found an electronic device that had more than 250 pictures showing child sexual abuse, officials said.
Mangan pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography and a judge sentenced him to 120 months in prison. He was ordered to also serve five years of supervised release and to pay restitution to victims.
Mangan was previously convicted for sexual assault against a minor while he was working as a school principal and had been convicted for possessing child pornography in a previous case.
NBC10 reached out to Mangan’s attorney and we are waiting to hear back.
