SAN MARCOS, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A dash of Parisian flair just landed in North County.
Netflix’s “Bake Squad” star and Michelin-trained pastry chef Christophe Rull has officially opened the doors to his first-ever namesake bakery — Christophe Rull Patisserie — right in the heart of San Marcos.

Located at 251 North City Dr., Suite 121, the new patisserie is already creating a buzz with its indulgent French pastries and warm, welcoming vibe. The café is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., serving up flaky croissants, golden-brown cinnamon rolls, and much more.
But this isn’t just another bakery. It’s a labor of love from a chef whose career has taken him from Michelin-starred kitchens in France to TV screens across America.
Chef Christophe Rull isn’t your average baker. If his face looks familiar, it’s because you’ve probably seen him crafting edible masterpieces on Netflix’s “Bake Squad” or taking home trophies on Food Network hits like “Halloween Wars,” ‘Holiday Wars,” and this summer’s “Super Mega Cakes.”
But despite his international accolades, Chef Christophe says the opening of his patisserie marks a deeply personal milestone.
“North City is now home, and I look forward to sharing everything I love about pastry and chocolate not only with San Marcos residents but across San Diego and beyond,” he explained. “The North City community is becoming known for its locally grown restaurants and specialty eateries, and I’m proud to be a part of it. There’s so much more to come.”
Designed by Sangita Wahi of We Design, the 1,200-square-foot café is equal parts charm and sophistication. Soft pastel tones meet warm gold and brown accents, giving guests the perfect setting to sip an espresso or savor a chocolate tart in style.
More importantly, what’s on the menu?
Early visitors to the patisserie can indulge in pull-apart cinnamon rolls with gooey centers, buttery croissants, savory quiches, delicate fruit tarts, macarons in seasonal and classic flavors, and house-made chocolate creations.
The patisserie is also planning hands-on pastry classes and a dedicated chocolate program where Rull’s background in chocolate sculpture and competition artistry will take center stage.
Chef Christophe’s patisserie is the latest jewel in the crown of North City, a rapidly growing urban hub known for its walkability, creative energy and focus on local talent.
“Bringing Chef Christophe’s patisserie to North City is a huge win not just for food lovers, but for our whole community,” said Andy Tenn, senior manager at North City. “He’s a world-class talent — and now, he’s also a neighbor. That mix of quality and authenticity is exactly what we are creating here at North City for the long-term.”
Whether you’re a die-hard dessert lover, a fan of “Bake Squad” or just looking for a weekend treat, this patisserie promises an unforgettable taste of French elegance — no passport required.
