Fiery multi-car crash kills 2 people in San Bernardino

A three-car collision caused vehicles to catch fire Wednesday morning, killing two drivers in the city of San Bernardino.

The crash happened at around 7:15 a.m. on Highland Avenue near Del Rose Avenue, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

When first responders arrived at the scene, all three drivers were trapped inside their cars amid the active fire. Crews had to put out the flames then extricate the victims, the fire department said.

The video from the scene appears to show at least two cars were engulfed in flames.

Two drivers from separate cars were declared dead at the scene. Another driver, a female, was taken to a hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries.

The area of Highland and Del Rosa avenues were closed during the investigation.
